New Year 2021 Newsletter
My final task for the year is to list all the implications of Brexit, so here we go -
From 1st January we will no longer be posting any items outside of the EU. The knitting and crochet patterns will remain available to purchase as a PDF, however, with the new restrictions it will be too time consuming and costly to post any of the kits, yarn bowls and other wood-turning. All of these will be for sale in the pop-up-shop when you visit us at Knitting Holidays in France.
Payment for Kniting Holidays in France
All prices on the Knitting Holidays in France and KnitKits websites are now in euros.
If you are already booked on a knitting holiday for 2021 the balance of payment can be made either in the new euro price OR in the original sterling price. All new bookings made from today must be paid for in euros to my French account.
Travelling to France
If you are booked to come to Knitting Holidays in France in 2021 please check that your passport is valid for travel.
On the day of travel your passport needs to have at least 6 months left on it and be less than 10 years old (even if it has 6 months or more left on it).
Visas will not be necessary for short stays, but you may have to show a return ticket at border control.
Now the bad bit - Due to Covid19 the French border is currently closed to all non-EU countries (with the exception of a few Covid-free countries) until further notice. This now also applies to the UK, it is due to be reviewed every 2 weeks, so I am hoping that this will not cause a problem for the first holiday in April, but will keep you posted.
Vaccinations have started in France and the government seem confident that all over 50's will have received their jab by the Spring, which is great news for us.
Insurance and health insurance
Please ensure that you take out full holiday insurance cover before you travel.
The EHIC cards will be replaced, please check for latest information on the Gov.UK website.
Please check with your provider to find out about roaming charges after 1st January 2021
More information about travelling to France can be found at https://www.gov.uk/visit-europe-1-january-2021
On a positive note there is a lot to look forward to in 2021. We have 10 weeks of knitting holidays booked with just a few spaces still available (see here), the house is looking great as we have had plenty of time for decorating and the new terrace and decking around the swimming pool provides some lovely shady seating. Cull has been busy wood-turning so the pop-up-shop is full of beautiful yarn bowls, pin cushions and needle cases and I have put together a new range of knitting kits. All we need now is guests!
I will leave you with all our very best wishes
for a happy and healthy 2021
