Wednesday 17th to 24th May 2023 workshop with tutor Debbie Abrahams

Join us at the Barn at Bercloux for a week of workshops with talented designer Debbie Abrahams.

The Tutor

Debbie Abrahams is one of Britain’s most celebrated hand-knit designers, renowned for her contemporary designs and hugely successful Mystery Blanket and Mystery Cushion clubs.

After leaving school Debbie went to Nottingham Trent University to do a BA (Hons) degree in Knitwear Design. Soon after graduating, her association with Rowan Yarns began and she has worked for them as a freelance consultant for over twenty years whilst gradually establishing her own hand-knitting business.

Debbie chose to focus on designing accessories, and for her this is the perfect vehicle to explore what she loves most about the craft. Debbie’s inspiration comes mainly from graphical sources and she has a vast collection of visuals to motivate her including greeting cards, ceramics and fabrics.

The Workshops

During the course of the week Debbie will guide you through all the techniques needed to complete a kntting project that she will design specifically for this workshop. All skill levels are welcome.

The project will include the following techniques

  • Fairisle
  • Intarsia
  • Texture
  • Beading

It's the perfect opportunity to understand and explore all the techniques used to create one of Debbie's beautiful and unique designs. All materials will be supplied, with one-to-one tuition.
