Carol Meldrum Knitting and Crochet Workshops 2023
Saturday 6th to 13th May and Wednesday 20th to 27th September
Enjoy a week of workshops in rural France with inspirational tutor Carol Meldrum at The Barn. The holiday will consist of 2 full day workshops and 4 half day workshops. During free time guests can relax in the house and garden or go on optional outings to the local towns for shopping and sightseeing.
The Workshops
The subject of the workshops will be decided closer to the date.
Carol will design a selection of projects for the workshops and you can choose to work in knit or crochet, or combine the two crafts in one project. During the week she will take you through all the techniques needed to make the designs of your choice. All skill levels are very welcome, at the end of the week we will have a show and tell of all the completed projects. All the yarn is supplied for the workshops, we will tell you what size knitting needles and crochet hooks are needed in the final details.

The Tutor
Carol Meldrum is a talented designer full of enthusiasm and energy. She loves to combine knitting and crochet and is passionate about texture and colour. After graduating from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee she worked as a knitwear designer for a UK based manufacturer and as a freelance designer for Rowan Yarns and many knitting and crochet magazines.
Her designs are heavily influenced by Scottish traditional crafts and patterns, giving them her own twist by recreating woven's into knits, adding a flash of fairisle where you would least expect it and playing around with scale. You can see her website here.
Carol is a fantastic teacher with the patience of a saint.
The venue
The Barn at Bercloux is a superb conversion from two old farm buildings, situated in a small hamlet just outside of Brizambourg it is surrounded by vineyards and quiet country lanes.
