Second May knitting retreat - Days 2 and 3
The weather has been wonderful with warm sunny days and a gentle breeze, the swimming pool has been used every day and we have been taking the dogs out just before dusk every evening.
On Tuesday some of us went to Royan for the day.
We started with a visit to the yarn shop Bleu Framboise

then on to the amazing eglise de Notre Dame, the post-war church built from concrete with its wonderful stained glass windows

followed by lunch overlooking the marina, bowls of steaming moules marinieres and pizza.

On Wednesday we spent a relaxing day soaking up the sunshine, swimming and walking the dogs

The poppies have just started to appear in the fields and on the verges, Kate took this lovely photo
