Knitting and crochet retreat September 2022
This has been an amazing week, we have had 7 guests who have never been to knitting holidays in France before which is really unusual. It is a lovely group of 5 ladies from Canada and 2 from the UK and after half an hour of chatting it was like they had known each other for years.
The good weather has held up and we have spent a lot of the week in the garden with a few brave souls using the pool for the first 6 days.

We spent the first 2 days chilling at the Barn, then on Thursday we set off for Cognac. Three of the group went on the Hennessey tour for a bit of Cognac tasting, the rest of us went yarn shopping.

On Friday we went to La Rochelle for the day, stating at the yarn shop Bleu Framboise followed by lunch at the edge of Le Vieux Port, galettes, sardines and bowls of steaming moules marinieres.

After lunch we wandered through the town enjoying the beautiful old buildings and designer shops.

On Saturday morning it was a trip to the market in St Jean d'Angely and a coffee in the square.

The pop up shop has been really popular. I have sold out of knitting kits so need to make some more before the next guests arrive on Saturday.

Today is the last day, the weather has turned and it is starting to look very autumnal.

See the next post for the projects everyone has been working on this week.
