A taste of tartan - days 3 and 4

A taste of tartan - days 3 and 4

Tuesday started with sunshine but soon clouded over and became hot and humid, still no thunderstorms but a little rain in the afternoon. We had another full day workshop, starting with a lesson on brioche knitting for 3 of the group, then back to working on their projects of bags and spec cases.
By 5pm the sun was shining again so everyone went for a walk followed by a swim for some. Supper was chicken and fennel cooked in sherry and cheesecake with red fruit compote,

On Wednesday we had a workshop in the morning, then in the afternoon we all bundled into the car for a shopping trip to Saintes.

We started on the industrial estate with a visit to Oasis the fabric and yarn shop. On the way there we spotted Maison du Monde which has moved from the town centre into a massive warehouse. It is sad to see more town centre shops closing in favour of out of town shopping but I was just glad to have found it again.

We drove into the town for a tea and ice creams at the Musarderie cafe by the museum then back home for aperos in the garden.
