KNITTING BASICS WORKSHOP AT LA VERDERIE 
TUTOR SUE CULLIGAN

This workshop is designed for knitters with a very basic knowledge of knitting, who want to progress to textured knitting and working with colour. The small group (maximum of 5) allows one-to-one tuition and the course can be tailored to indvidual needs. The aim of the week will be to create a knitted patchwork cushion cover using different techniques. 
There will also be outings to local towns for shopping and sightseeing.

The cost of the holiday is £295 per head based on two people sharing a twin room or £370 per head for a single room (a deposit of £50 is payable at the time of booking). This includes full board with wine, the workshops, materials, outings to local towns and transfers from local airports/stations.
NOT included: your travel to France, refreshments on outings and entrance fees to places of interest.

A crochet design workshop for a maximum of five guests. 
Guests will be encouraged to design their own project during the course of the week. The small group allows for one-to-one tuition and the course can be tailored to suit each individual.

Spend time learning new skills in the quiet and relaxed atmosphere of La Verderie. With an intimate group of just 4/5 students this would be a great chance to take a break and discover a new way of working in textiles. Learn how to use Bondaweb creatively in a relaxed and comfortable environment. This is designed for beginners or those who feel they need a little help. The workshop will cover all the basic bonding processes including how to paint and foil this wonderful product. Discover how to build up layers of hand stitch and embellishment. Learn about decorating wood, paper and card and about just how versatile Bondaweb is. Discover what you can apply Bondaweb onto. Students decorate and varnish a sketchbook cover.

Trip to local market a wonderful source of inspiration.

Students start to develop their own ideas and paint up more products for the final day.

Work on layered surfaces and experiment with more unusual fabrics and newspaper.

Stitch into samples or carry on with experiments.

Final round uo and show and tell.

This workshop is designed for beginners or those who feel they need a little help. We will be painting, layering and stitching Tyvek, Vilene Spunbond and newspaper to create amazing textured surfaces with heat guns and soldering irons. Learn how to use heat guns safely and confidently. There will be plenty of time to create some beautiful and well considered samples to take home. Please note a deposit of £75 is payable at the time of booking and is non-refundable unless we can resell the space. Balance payable by 3rd September 2012. (3 spaces remaining)
